Alyssa Deitsch is currently the Morning Anchor for Today in Wyoming at KCWY News 13 NBC for Wyoming.
I was born and raised in California. I grew up in the Silicon Valley, in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area.
When the time came to move out for college, I sought warmer weather—and found much warmer conditions at Arizona State University (Go Sun Devils!). There, I entered the career path of an elementary education teacher. Soon after, I realized my passion was elsewhere and entered the well renowned Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
While at Cronkite’s namesake, I fell in love with multimedia journalism. Growing up in the Silicon Valley, I have always been around and fascinated with technology. So, while getting my journalism degree, I dived right into the multimedia journalist’s role and learned all I could about the technology used in today’s newsrooms. I learned how to tell a story visually and audibly. I love shooting and editing my own news packages; creating and shaping a story from the news pitch all the way to the finished product on-air.
Before I graduated from Arizona State, I received a job offer as a morning anchor for Today in Wyoming at the only NBC station in the state—KCWY News 13 in Casper, WY. I graciously accepted, packed up and moved to Casper immediately following my graduation.
I am currently living and working in Wyoming. I am still getting used to the weather change but am embracing the cowboy lifestyle and all the outdoor activities beautiful Wyoming has to offer!
